Nerja Council is set to take disciplinary action against an individual who has been dumping soil next to the Eagle Aqueduct, apparently to build an access road to his nearby farm. A mound of debris has built up on the north side of the aqueduct and has even covered one of the overflows.
Local Police have not yet been able to identify the perpetrator or the company carrying out the work as it is a weekend and there is no-one at the site. However, they hope to be able to find those responsible on Monday when they once again visit the site together with municipal technicians.
In the meantime, steps have been taken to contact the owners of the land, the Larios Sugar Company, to find out who has leased the land to which, apparently, the access road leads.
