The Council has approved the transfer of land for the construction of a heliport in Nerja by the public company for Emergency Health in Andalucia.
The heliport is to be built near the existing Health Centre, the ‘ambulatorio’. Until now, the football field has been used as a landing area in the case of emergencies.
According to the Council, the new heliport will benefit all residents of the town as well as tourists who visit Nerja as it will dramatically improve the performance of the health services and could potentially save lives.
The government team also approved the design of the heliport and its implementation.
