La Joya, Nerja

La Joya is a new cafe/bar/restaurant occupying the premises of the former Langham’s Restaurant in calle Los Huertos and is run by a young Polish couple, Natalia and Michal.

It is light, modern, spacious and has a small street terrace for those warm evenings, of which there have been known to be a few throughout the year.

You can pop in just for a coffee or a beer, or have a full meal from the varied menu. You can try some Tiger Prawns or maybe an Old Recipe Polish Goulash, Mama’s Home-made Soup or the Fish of the Day, the menu is varied and just that little bit different.

Fresh juices and natural juice cocktails are a speciality of the house.

  1. We had wonerful meal at La Joya- set menu for 5 euros – Chicken in white wine and mashroom sauce with glass of wine We decided to try their home baked apple strudel as well, which was amazing.
Shame we discovered it on our last night!

  2. Carol says:

We also had the 5 euro menu it was delicious – the french fries and salad were to die for.

We are going back in Sept.

  8. Carol and Gordon says:

What a lovely bar and restaurant La Joya is! Natalia’s welcome is genuinely warm and the food and wine are excellent value for money. We especially enjoyed the home made burger and fries – but the whole menu is lovely you cannot decide what to have. We hope you enjoy continued success and can’t wait to come back next year.

  9. Caroll & Bill says:

Returned to La Joya again several times in October. Always the same excellent standard of food and service. Natalia is a joy!

  10. Was introduced to this place in December on my second night in the town and then taken on to a great music shebeen in the hills above Torrox called Casa Maria. Went back to La Joya the following night to make arrangements to make arrangements to go to Morocco for Xmas with my new best friends….friendships and lives begin at La Joya….one night and you can get to know the ‘movers and shakers’ of the party scene of Nerja.

  11. Lord Fauntleroy says:

The chef is too young to be so pompous and arrogant. The food took an eternity to show up at table, and wasn’t that great when it did. I shan’t be returning.

    • Lynne Hanson says:

The food is always very good and well worth the wait – it does have to be cooked you know! For ‘instant meals’ go to McDonalds.

  12. Monna Moller says:

    Hi.
I was at your restaurant with NADFAS in November, and we had great food. I noticed a pretty painting hanging on your wall, showing a fruit stall with a lot of different fruit and vegetables. I passed today to find out the name of the artist – and the painting was gone!!! Can you inform me of the name of the artist? I would be so happy – thank you.
    Regards Monna – [email protected]
