The starting place is Plaza Marina and the aptly named La Marina bar. If you have kids with you, then they can play quite happily, and safely, in the play area in the square.
Although a ‘fishy’ tapas bar, meat dishes are also served. Good place for full meals, too, with a nice outside terrace.
Leaving La Marina, walk to the end of the square (play area end) and into SolyMar. Nice tapas and a small terrace on the square.
Leaving SolyMar by its other entrance (walk through the bar) you arrive on calle Chaparil. Turn left and walk down the road a little way, crossing calle Jaén, then across the road, opposite Plaza Tutti Frutti, you will see Los Pescaitos, an excellent tapas bar specialising in fish dishes. All are good but the ‘pulpo’ is usually tender and absolutely divine.
Turn right as you leave Los Pescaitos and a short way down the street you come to a junction. Almost diagonally opposite (a couple of doors down from the vet) is Sevillanos, an absolute gem of a tapas bar serving huge portions.
Meat, fish, vegetarian…it has them all and the atmosphere is excellent.
Onward and upward. Turning right as you exit Sevillanos you very quickly arrive at calle Antonio Millón. Turn right and you will see Vinoleto. Nice tapas and a good selection of wines as the name of the bar might suggest.
Our final port of call is La Bodeguilla, on the opposite side of the street with the barrels and bar stools on the street terrace.
There is a veritable array of tapas to choose from and you also get a bowl of olives, making it great value for money. For wine drinkers, La Bodeguilla has an excellent selection and often has ‘tasters’ of new wines.
A short run in terms of distance, but long in terms of quality tapas.
