There is a small ‘For Lease’ sign in the window of The Saloon in avenida Castilla Perez. Good food in the Saloon but it is a huge place to try and fill. Former occupants have been a Chinese restaurant, Indian restaurant and, for a short time, a Brazilian restaurant.
Small Verano Azul office closed for the winter…
The small Viajes Verano Azul office at the side of the iglesia El Salvador is now closed for the winter, normally reopening around Easter time. Their main office is near the bottom of calle Chaparil, Nerja. Not that you would think it was winter by the weather today!!!
Calle Chaparil November 4th 2013…
The roadworks in calle Chaparil are now concentrated outside El Tapeito. Not much left of the tree which should be transplanted up by the fire station. With so many trees having been destined for replanting in the one area one would have expected it to be akin to the Amazon rainforest by now, but it isn’t.
Looks like an alien…
No more bears on the beach or bares in the hills lately, but this guy did put in an appearance on El Playazo beach.
Out and about October 20th 2013…
The glorious weather continues and for the time of year there are still a lot of people milling around town. Quite a sprawling wedding celebration on the Balcón de Europa on Sunday with guests spread out from the Balcón viewpoint to the Town Hall. Would that be a wedding ‘botellón’?
A story with a happy ending…
It is always nice to hear stories like the following…
Way back when…
Burying time capsules with foundation stones is a great idea as it affords an interesting historical perspective. An amphora containing a few Sestertii, a copy of the Daily Papyrus and a drawing with Aramaic annotations has been dug up in the east of the town. It is thought to relate to some sort of proposal for a water treatment facility.
Like sardines…
Not even the threat of rain during this year’s Feria, amazing stuff. Good crowd at the Feria de Dia in Plaza Tutti Frutti, bit like it used to be at weekends a few years ago, packed.
Disgruntled bunnies…
It has been reported that at least 50 (counted) vehicles in calle Rodrigues Acosta received €200 parking tickets last night.
Out and About October 8th 2013…
A bit of a scorcher today and plenty of people on Torrecilla beach. Some nice waves developed for the surfers, but it also mean’t that the sea came quite far in, overrunning the sunbed area. Not that anyone was bothered.
