The BBVA, Spain’s second-largest bank, has bought the bailed-out Catalunya Banc for around €1.18 billion, which means the State will suffer an estimated €11.8 billion on the deal.
Early morning attempted bank robbery in Málaga
At around 08:00 on Monday morning two robbers entered the BBVA bank in Paseo de Sancha, Málaga, and took two hostages as they tried to gain access to the safe.

The consumer organisation FACUA has warned that an error by the BBVA bank has led to duplicate charges for electricity, water and telephone bills for a huge number of customers.
