At least three companies have so far expressed an interest in running the paid parking scheme, the so-called Blue Zone system, in Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar. The current idea is to have the system up and running in 2013.
PSOE in Marbella object to blue zone parking scheme
The PSOE in Marbella has filed a motion asking the government team to set aside the blue zone parking scheme on the grounds that it merely privatises streets where parking is currently free. The blue zone parking scheme starts in Puerto Banús later this month.
