The Council has awarded the contract to carry out the development works on the roads to the north of the Sports Centre. These uebanisation works should have been carried out by the promoter building the houses in the area but the company ran into financial difficulties.
Work on Escuela Infantil La Fortaleza to start on Monday
Work to expand and adapt the Escuela Infantil La Fortaleza in calle Huerta Carrión, Vélez-Málaga, is due to start on Monday according to the Mayor, Francisco Delgado. The contract, worth €149,270, has been awarded to Construcciones Torre Axarquía and the completion period is three months.
Start of work on Torre del Mar promemade is delayed
The renovation and improvement of the promenade in Torre del Mar, originally scheduled to start before the summer, will not now begin until late September or maybe even October.
Improvement works in Cártama
Cártama Council has started work on renovating the square located between calle Marconi and calle Pitágoras and in front of the instituto Valle del Azahar in Estación de Cártama.
Torrox Council not happy with works in Plaza de la Constitución
The renovation of Plaza de la Constitución in Torrox Pueblo has been a long, drawn-out saga with, as yet, no end in sight, although the square itself is finally fully open to the public.

Work is being carried out on the old public library building in Alhaurín el Grande ready for its new occupants, the Municipal School of Music.
Torrox building works over budget
The two major projects in Torrox financed under the First State Investment Plan, more commonly known as the Plan Zapatero, have both suffered long delays and will ultimately cost around €184,000 more than was anticipated.
Plaza Cavana, May 6th 2010
The shrubbery is beginning to appear in Plaza Cavana as the work grinds slowly to completion. Still a long way to go yet with some of the other projects, namely Plaza Cantarero, Plaza de la Ermita and calle Carabeo.

The building works in Plaza Cavana are now in their seventh month and, hopefully, nearing completion. The decorative street lamps are now in place.
Plaza to plaza, building progress
Up at Plaza Cantarero work is progressing once more, albeit quite slowly. The orange trees seem to have been thinned out a bit but at least they are still there, otherwise it would no longer be Orange Square.
