A 70 year old Danish national was killed and another person was slightly injured on Monday afternoon following a collision between a car and a lorry on the A-356 near Colmenar, Málaga province.
Roadworks on the A-7204
The A-7204 between Venta Baja and Colmenar will be closed to traffic between 07:00 and 22:00 on Monday December 10th as work is being carried out to repair damage caused by recent landslides. The work will be at km 10.700 between Periana and Mondrón and traffic will be diverted via the A-356 and A-402.
New Fire Station in Colmenar
The new Fire Station in Colmenar, costing €820,000 and totally funded by the Junta de Andalucia, is now operational and will serve the municipalities of Alfarnate, Alfarnatejo, Almogía, Casabermeja, Colmenar, Riogordo and Villanueva de la Concepción. The new station has a total of 17 staff.

Work starts on new fire station in Colmenar
The Málaga provincial Council has started work on a new fire station in Colmenar, the project costing €500,000 with a completion period of six months. The new station will provide cover for Colmenar, Alfarnate, Alfarnatejo, Riogordo and Casabermeja as well as a stretch of the A-92.
New museum in Colmenar
As part of an initiative to enhance cultural tourism in the Axarquia, Colmenar now has a new museum, the Casa Museo de la Miel de Málaga, which shows everything relating to the history, production and harvesting of honey as well as the life of the honey bee.

Artificial turf for Colmenar
Colmenar Council is proceeding with a project to install artificial turf on the local football field at a cost of €462,173.56, half of the money coming from a grant from the Ministry of Tourism.
