Proposals to limit crowdfunding in Spain

The Cabinet has approved a plan to impose limits on online crowdfunding, an increasingly popular means of raising funds for various products. The proposal will introduce a 3,000-euro ceiling on individual investor contributions to any given project and a 6,000 euro limit for individuals investing in a particular funding platform.

New olive oil rules come into effect

Today, Wednesday January 1st 2014, is the beginning of the end for the refillable olive oil containers in bars and restaurants, a move applauded by the oil producers but criticised by restaurateurs.

New law means 100 fewer taxis in Málaga and drivers out of work

The new Andalucian law regulating taxis comes into effect today, Friday, which prevents pensioners, retirees, widows and widowers from owning the licensed vehicle. This means that in Málaga, there will suddenly be one hundred fewer taxis on the roads.

Piracy is now a crime

The Council of Ministers has approved a new crime under the Penal Code, that of piracy. It does not apply in such cases as the ‘Alakrana’ or any act occurring before the law actually comes into force.

Change in law for moped riders

Today, Wednesday, sees a change in the law regarding mopeds. Drivers of such vehicles now have to be 18 years old before they can carry pillion passengers, this having been raised from 16 years.
