Clampdown on unauthorised use of streets in the centre of Nerja

The Council has started removing merchandise from premises that exceed their allotted space on the public thoroughfare, starting with one in calle Pintada, following various complaints made to the Local Police and several warnings to the establishment in question.

Tables, chairs and brollies – application deadline

The deadline for submitting applications for the placing of tables and chairs on the public roads for the ‘year 2009’ is December 31st 2008 and for the ‘season 2009’ it is February 28th 2009. Nerja and street furniture

Under new Nerja municipal ordinances, businesses in areas such as avenida Mediterráneo and calle Antonio Millón are supposed to be removing street ‘furniture’ from what are, in fact, car parking spaces. With parking in Nerja at a premium and the new underground car park at Parque Verano Azul suffering incessant delays, the objective is to free-up a few extra spaces. …
