Three dead after fishing vessel capsizes

Three bodies have so far been recovered from the fishing vessel ‘Mar Nosso’ which capsized on Thursday afternoon about twenty miles north of the ria de Navia in Asturias. Two crew members are still missing.

The vessel, Portuguese flagged and out of Marín, Pontevedra, had left the port of Ávilaes a few hours earlier and was fishing for mackerel when, for reasons yet to be determined, it capsized. The sea conditions at the time were said to be good.

The vessel was 32 metres long and weighed 183 tons and had a crew of twelve, five Galicians and seven Portuguese. The five Galicians were all rescued alive.

The search continues for the two missing crew members.
