The entire Andalucía coast, with the exception of Huelva, remains on ‘Orange Alert’ for heavy winds and seas.
The ferries out of Tarifa are still not running as the seas in the Straits of Gibraltar are too rough. Only some of the slower boats operating from Algeciras to Tangier or Ceuta are currently managing to make the journey.
Some areas of Málaga province have experienced winds gusting up to 90 kph. The latest prediction is that the strong winds are likely to continue well into tomorrow, Thursday.
