Fourteen athletes from the Nerja Caves-UMA team will be participating in the National Indoor Championships to be held at the velodrome Lluis Puig in Valencia. The event is seen as a dress rehearsal for the World Championships which will take place in March at the same venue.

The championships take place on Saturday and Sunday, with TVE2 covering the event although possibly not ‘live’.

The Nerja Caves-UMA team are, this year, without two of their major, medal winning stars, namely Álvaro Fernández and Josué Mena. Álvarez has problems with his knee and Mena is suffering from a double rupture of the Achilles tendon.

Those taking part are Jeremy Catalán in the 200 metres, Isabel Robles in the triple jump, Lorena Aguilar in the shot, Antonio Fernández and Juan Carlos Moreno in the 400 metres, Araceli López and Pilar Cortacero in the 60 metres and 200 metres, José Andujar and Iván López in the 60 metres, Andrés Hinojo in the pole vault, Esther Torres in the combined, Javier and Cristina López in the 60 metres hurdles and Ola Carlsson in the high jump.
