Friday night was a wild night in the Málaga district of Churriana with 26 cars being damaged and broken into.
The events took place near the historic centre of Churriana in the streets surrounding the church. The cars all had their wing mirrors smashed, amongst other damage, and all were broken into and had valuables removed.
Police are investigating the incident and trying to determine whether, in fact, two waves of attacks occurred, the first wave causing the systematic damage to the vehicles and the second wave responsible for the actual robberies.
The events on Friday night are the latest in a series of recent incidents involving the robbery and or damage to vehicles. There was a spate of robberies in Alhaurin recently as well as the burning of a number of vehicles in various parts of Málaga city itself.
