Home favourite Dani Pedrosa dominated the Cataluña MotoGP, overtaking pole man Casey Stoner at the start and then staying out in front for the rest of the race.
Valentino Rossi, who started from ninth on the grid, finished in second place with reigning champion Casey Stoner in third position. Rossi is now just seven points clear of Pedrosa at the top of the standings, Rossi with 142 points.
