Two forest fires, in Zuera (Zaragoza) and Honrubia de la Sierra (Segovia) have so far destroyed 3,000 hectares of land.
Firefighters, with the aid of water bombers, have been battling the first major forest fires of the summer. The blaze in Zuera began on Tuesday as the result of an accident when a car hit a tree and raged out of control for most of yesterday.
Both fires are now under control and could, if all goes well, be extinguished later today.
