Two more bodies recovered from flight JK5022

Firefighters have discovered the bodies of two passengers unaccounted for after the crash of Spanair flight JK5022 at Madrid’s Barajas airport.

The bodies are those of a baby and an adult, bringing the death toll in the tragedy to 155. There are still 19 survivors in various hospitals, four of whom are in a critical condition and six are described as ‘very serious’.

Forensics teams have so far been able to identify 27 out of a possible 59 victims through fingerprints, the remainder will be indentified through DNA testing. The identification process is expected to take around 48 hours.

It is known that four of the victims were from Andalucía.
