Agents of UDYCO, GRECO and the Inland Revenue have seized more than 3,500 kilos of cocaine and arrested eight people, one of whom is a notorious drugs trafficker with the nickname ‘El Mulo’.
The arrests all took place in and around O Salnés in Pontevedra province, Galicia.
The cocaine was being transported in a glider and had been thrown from the plane before it crashed and burned on A Lanzada beach. The drugs have been gradually turning up along the coast with, until now, some 3,500 kilos being in the hands of the authorities.
