A proposal by the Councillor for Finance, Isabel Sánchez, regarding the freezing of Council salaries, expected to take effect after the next plenary session, has been clarified.
The freeze only affects the salaries of those in political or public office and special advisors and does not in any way affect council functionaries. Allowances for attending committee and various other meetings will also be frozen.
The proposal also envisages a 20% reduction in the funding of local political parties.
