The jury still seems to be out on whether the question posed by a rather paunchy Eamonn Holmes was a genuine gaffe or an attempt at a cheap laugh.
During an interview with the gorgeous Salma Hayek on the This Morning programme, Holmes was commenting on her surname, saying ‘Hayek doesn’t sound very Mexican’. Salma Hayek tried to explain her background, to which Holmes responded , ‘You’re a lesbian?’.
The star smiled politely before learning foward and saying ‘Lebanese’ slowly enough for Holmes to understand.
Holmes replied: ‘Oh sorry, i thought you were half lesbian. Forgive me.’
It would seem hardly likely that a so-called top presenter would not have done his homework and anyway, how on earth could anybody be half lesbian?
