On man died and five people were injured in a gas explosion and subsequent fire in a block of flats in Pozoblanco, Córdoba.
The explosion occurred just before 22:00 on Monday evening on the fourth floor of the building, located in calle Paseo de la Herradura. Sixty residents had to be evacuated from their homes.
The man who died in the explosion had apparently repeatedly announced in public that he intended to commit suicide and this is thought to be the most likely cause of the incident, although an investigation is being carried out.
