Work is continuing along the coast around Tarifa to clear the oil spilled by two vessels which ran aground during the recent storms in the area.
The beaches most affected by the spillage are Los Lances in Tarifa and Getares in Algeciras. Fishermen in the area have also been affected by the spillage of fuel. The tides have dragged fuel to the sea bed and this has prevented them from fishing in the area.
The Brotherhood of Fishermen intend to try and seek compensation from the boat owners for their loss of earnings.
