Sun, films, pruning, flies and changes…

Torrecilla beach, NerjaBack to glorious weather, clear blue skies, after the recent storms and quite a few people taking a dip in the sea today.

It’s also obviously the pruning and clean-up season, especially after the bad weather.

New management at the Victoria pub on calle Chaparil, Nerja, with Ray and Fiona (from Stereo Bar) taking over at the helm. And a new cook at the Andrea Inn on calle Jaén. Bit like musical chairs at the moment.

For film lovers, the Nerja Cultural Centre is showing films twice a week. The films are a mix of almost brand new and old – swashbuckling Errol Flynn is the star of Captain Blood this evening – and are in the original language with subtitles. see What’s On for details for the rest of this month.

Saw very few flies during the summer, I think we had one in the house the whole time. But now! They seem to be everywhere, and they’re not just flies. They’re annoying flies. Persistent, not bothered if you vainly try to swat them.
