Titivating the taste buds

The Mijas Cuisine Week takes place at the CIO Mijas in La Cala, Mijas Costa, from Monday November 17th to Friday November 21st, from 6.30 p.m.

An exotic array of food will be on offer as chefs from all over the Costa del Sol get down to business.

Day One:

The Asia Food restaurant in Marbella is in charge of the menu and you will be able to sample such delights as spicy Thai soup with king prawns, Cantonese style spring rolls, Cantonese style duck, salt and pepper king prawns and green tea jelly.

Day Two:

Chefs from the Roca Tranquila restaurant in Fuengirola will be serving a dish of Iberian loin with tomato and olive oil powder followed by smoked salmon in saffron and fennel soup, loin of deer with wild mushrooms in hazelnut sauce with celery purée, raspberries and violet potato croquettes and wahlrona Guanaja chocolate with passion custard cream, citrus textures and Guinness foam.

Day Three:

Over to PS Gourmet & Catering from Marbella who will prepare a menu of bouillon of beetroot with wasabi, noodle salad with sauté king prawns and foam of king prawns, shoulder of Andalucían ox with cauliflower and lemon sauce.

Day Four:

Time for Terra Sana in Marbella to take the helm and the menu includes crab and celery salad with gazpacho and avocado with a polenta cracker, followed by glazed wild mushrooms on grilled sour dough bruschetta and shaved pecorino. Vanilla panacotta with poached pear cider will be the dessert.

Day Five:

Chefs from El Jardín de La Cala in Mijas Costa will be preparing avocado cream with king prawns, oxtail croquette with violet jam, grilled gilthead on a bed of spinach with country soup and Iberian pork with Málaga breadcrumbs and chocolate sauce.
