A Catalan company has expressed the desire to set up a biodiesel production facility on the El Higueral industrial estate between Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar.
The Council will study whether this type of activited is permitted in that area under the various municipal plans once the company submits a draft proposal for the project, including an environmental impact report.
The facility would be using vegetable oils to make the biodiesel.
