Nationally, unemployment rose by 171,243 people, an increase of 6% over October, and now means that the total is edging towards the three million mark. It currently stands at 2,989,269, the highest number since February 1996 when the total number of unemployed reached 2.99 million.
In Andalucía the figure stands at 707,749, with more women (368,457) being out of work than men (339,292).
