Four construction workers were killed early yesterday morning after the partial collapse of a hotel on the island of Mallorca. Four other workers were injured in the incident and are currently in hospital on the island.
The accident occurred in the small town of Capdepera where reconstruction work was being carried out on a hotel belonging to the Serrano chain. Recent heavy rains are thought to be a possible reason for the collapse.
However, it transpires that no license had been issued for the remodeling work on the hotel and, in fact, the authorities had ordered the project to be halted.
