An off duty Guardia Civil officer died early this morning following an incident at a nightclub in Irún.
At 08:15 this morning, the off duty officer, out celebrating New Year at the Corpus disco in calle Cipriano Larrañaga, became involved in an argument with another man.
The 45 year old officer was pushed to the ground and suffered head injuries which subsequently caused his death. The man who pushed him, a 30 year old with a criminal record including several jail terms, was arrested.
