Marbella is proposing street markets on public holidays

Marbella City Council is meeting with market traders from Marbella, San Pedro, Puerto Banus and Nueva Andalucía to discuss a Council proposal to hold markets on public holidays during 2009.

The proposal is designed to boost the local economy during the current financial crisis and the meeting is designed to exchange views and reach a consensus as to what is the best approach for all concerned.

The municipal calendar currently shows the following holidays: February 28th (Andalucía Day), April 9th (Jueves Santo), June 11th (Local Marbella holiday, San Bernabé), August 15th (Assumption), October 12th (Dia de la Hispanidad) and October 19th (Local festival, San Pedro).
