More than twenty residents in Alhama de Almería have been evicted from their homes after rains caused a landslide at the back of their houses.
The hillside gave way and soil and stones were endangering the houses due to the pressure being placed on the walls. Diggers are busy removing the earth and it is hoped that the residents can return to their homes in a couple of days.
However, many are expressing a reluctance to return as more rains are predicted and are demanding improvements in the area.
