In by far the biggest drugs bust in Sevilla, police seized 11,000 kilos of hashish stored in an underground garage in edificio Hércules, avenida de la Innovación.
The police were watching a couple of people known to be dealing in drugs and they were led to the underground garage. At first, officers discovered 1,000 kilos of hashish but then a further search of the premises revealed another 10,000 kilos.
The street value of the drugs is estimated at around €16 million. Two men have so far been detained, but further arrests are not ruled out.
The drugs arrived in Spain from Morocco and were then transported to Sevilla for further distribution.
