During the early hours of Wednesday morning, a maintenance worker at Málaga port was making his rounds when he heard a noise coming from one of the containers.
He informed the Guardia Civil at the port who, in turn, informed the National Police and then between them they opened up the container.
Inside were five young North Africans. After a medical check by the Red Cross, the five illegal immigrants, who were in good health apart from a slight decrease in sugar levels, were duly detained.
It is thought the container arrived from the enclave of Melilla.
