The Audiencia Provincial de Almería has sentenced a 26 year old insurance company employee to five and a half years in prison for stabbing a 79 year old pensioner.
The incident occurred in August 2006 and the defendant was arrested in September 2007 after a long investigation. The victim had, days earlier, taken out a life insurance policy at the company office and had a large amount of cash stored at her home.
The court also issued an order banning the accused from going within 300 metres of the old lady for a period of ten years.
