The Guardia Civil has arrested 15 people on suspicion of being involved in stealing cars in Central Europe and selling them on along the Costa del Sol.
Ten of those detained, who include owners and employees of a car dealership, were sent to jail on Friday after appearing in court in Torremolinos. Two others were released after posting bail of €10,000 each and three were released without bail.
It is thought that the group brought in stolen cars from Central Europe, particularly from Germany, and then resold them after changing licence plates etc. All the suspects deny the charges.
