Armed forces change medical requirements

Aitor, a 29 year old transsexual who has twice been rejected by the army on the grounds of having no genitalia, may soon see his dream of joining the armed forces come true after an amendment to the military rules.

An amendment to the medical requirements for enlisting will benefit not only transsexuals but also any males who suffer, for whatever reason, the lack of either a penis or testicles. Aitor will still have to pass the psychometric, medical and physical tests before being accepted, so he’s not quite there yet, but definitely a step closer.
