A 63 year old man was found dead at a house in Jerez de la Frontera yesterday evening, apparently killed by his son who suffers from problems relating to drug addiction.
Police were called to the building on Thursday evening and found the body of the man who had been severely beaten around the head.
It is thought that the son, knowing his father had just collected his pension, took him to the deserted house some three days ago and then killed him, literally splitting his head open in a savage attack. Police forensic teams inspected the scene and collected evidence for more than three hours, hampered by the fact that there was no light or water due to the place being uninhabited.
The wife of the deceased had to be treated for a nervous breakdown upon being informed of the incident.
