A German woman has been arrested in Vélez-Málaga after she attacked and attempted to rob another woman.
The victim, a 65 year old woman, had been to the bank to withdraw some money. As she arrived at the doorway to her home, she was struck twice on the head with a hammer. Her attacker then grabbed her bag with the money an attempted to get away.
Two people in the area heard the commotion and went to investigate, one of them managing to grab and detain the attacker until the police arrived on the scene.
The attacker, a 46 year old German national with the initials R.S.B., was arrested and charged with robbery with violence. The victim, bleeding from the headwounds, was taken to the Health Centre in Torre del Mar for treatment.
