Arsenal beat 10-man Villarreal to set up a Champions League semi-final showdown with Manchester United.
Theo Walcott put the Gunners ahead early in the first half, collecting a Cesc Fabregas pass and then chipping the ball over the keeper. Emmanuel Adebayor added a second with a neat finish, guiding the ball home with the outside of his right foot.
Villarreal’s Sebastian Eguren was then sent off for disputing an Arsenal penalty. Robin van Persie duly converted the spot kick and it was basically all over bar the shouting.
