Nerja athletes dominate

The Nerja Athletics Club, Cueva de Nerja-Uma, dominated the Andalucían club championships, finishing in first place, in both male and female sections, for the seventh consecutive year.

The championships were held in very soggy conditions in Salobreja, Jaén. The runners-up in both male and female sections were Jaén and third place was taken by Córdoba in the women’s section and Bahia de Algeciras in the men’s.

Outstanding personal performances by the Nerja team were:

Lorena Aguilar, 1st in weight and disc.

Pilar Cortacero, 1st at 100m.

Araceli Lopez, 1st in 200m.

Lorena Laz, 1st in 400m.

Maria Castillo, 1st in 1500m.

Jesica Musso, 1st in 400m hurdles.

Candela Guijarro, 1st in high jump.

Isabel Robles, 1st in long jump.

Amanda Rodriguez, 1st in triple jump.

Veronica Sanchez, 1st in hammer.

Inmaculada Gonzalez, 1st in javelin.

Andujar Jose, 1st in 200m.

Eulogio Sanchez, 1st in 800m.

José Mena, 1st in 400m hurdles.

Ola Carlsson, 1st in high jump.

Zuasti Antonio, 1st in shot.

Jose Heredia, 1st in discus.

Raul Marin, 1st in hammer.

Sergio Herrero, 1st in pole vault.
