More success for Cueva de Nerja-UMA

athletesFor the third year in a row, the junior athletes from the Cueva de Nerja-UMA club have been proclaimed champions in both the male and female sections.

The championships were held at the Enrique Talavera track in Algeciras. In the male division, Nerja finished on 98 points, with Sevilla in second place on 81 points and Motril in third place with 73 points.

In the female division, Cueva de Nerja-UMA were victors with a total of 87.5 points, followed by Bahía de Algeciras with 68 points and Vélez-Clínica Rincón with 62 points.

Individual winners were:

Maribel Pérez – 100 metres, Lorena Laz – 200 metres, Rocío Bonet – 400 metres, Sara Abbar – 3000 metres, Bárbara Campos – 5 km walk, Amanda Rodríguez – long jump, Verónica López – pole vault, Carolina Sánchez – hammer, Maria de los Reyes Villarreal, Maribel Pérez, Jimena Alonso and Verónica López – 4×100 relay.

Diego Zambrano – 110 metres hurdles, Enrique Zambrana – 400 metres hurdles, Rafael Ángel – 3000 metres steeplechase, Pedro Redondo – hammer, Álvaro Araujo, Fernando Pérez, Diego Zambrano and Juan Calzada -4×100 relay.
