Nerja will shortly have four new pharmacies after approval was given by the Ministry of Health.
The pharmacies will be put out to tender under the new system adopted by the regional government by which anyone with the suitable qualifications and meeting certain criteria is eligible to operate a pharmacy.
Part of the reason for the request by the Nerja Council for new pharmacies was to provide such services in areas of the municipality currently lacking such facilities, namely Maro and the Punta Lara area.
