Congress votes against postponing Abortion Act reforms

The plenary session of Congress has rejected a motion to postpone the processing of reforms to the Abortion Act sponsored by the Government.

The motion was proposed by the Grupo Mixto and tabled by the leader of the UPN (Unión del Pueblo Navarro) Carlos Slavador.  It called for a period of reflection and social debate.
The motion was supported by the PP but opposed by the PSOE, PNV and ERC-IU-ICV with the UPyD abstaining.
