The first Beach Volleyball Championships, promoted by the Department of Youth as an alternative to the ‘botellón, attracted 26 pairs and went on longer than expected on Sunday night, eventually finishing around 01:30.
The event coincided with the inauguration of new lighting on Burriana beach.
The winners in the various categories were:
Senior (male):

- Sandro and Chuco (Nerja)
Senior (Female):
- Natalia and Jessica (Nerja)
- Noelia and Marta (Nerja)
- Beatriz and María Jesús Nerja)
Under 19’s:
- Carmen and Raquel
- Marina and Carmen
