Matador Morante de la Puebla suffered serious leg injuries on Friday after being gored by the fifth bull in Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz).
The matador had just performed an excellent pass when he trod on his cape and fell over. The bull caught him in the thigh, leaving one 12cm and one 6cm gash in his leg. Morante de la Puebla was rushed to the hospital where emergency surgery was performed. After the operation he was transferred to the Los Álamos clinic in Jerez de la Frontera.
