Angry scenes outside the courtrooms in Ourense as the man who has now confessed to killing 19 year old Laura Alonso made his appearance.
About 100 people were waiting outside the court in Ourense when 32 year old Javier Cruz arrived in a police van. The assembled throng shouted insults as he was taken into court.
Javier Cruz had been interviewed twice as a witness during the search for Laura Alonso and before the body was discovered, had denied any involvement in her disappearance. On Sunday, after hours of interrogation, Javier Cruz broke down and confessed to killing his former girlfriend.
Laura Alonso had filed a complaint against Javier Cruz for abuse in 2007 but later retracted the complaint.
