A new museum in Almería is to devote a section to Beatle John Lennon.
The Casa del Cine is to be housed in an early XX Century mansion which was home to many of the stars of the golden age of films in Almería, people such as Yul Brynner, Peter O’Toole andFassbinder. And John Lennon.
The Beatle stayed there in 1966 during the filming of ‘How I Won the War’ and even celebrated his 26th birthday at the mansion in the company of fellow band member Ringo Starr. It is also thought that the location was the inspiration for the song ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’.
