A 27 year old Mali national died today in the Joaquinico district of Roquetas de Mar after being stabbed.
The man, identified by the initials B.S., was apparently in the doorway of his home in calle La Granja when, at around midnight, he was attacked. The Emergency Services were called to the scene and, after giving initial medical care, first took the victim to hospital in El Ejido and then on to Torrecárdenas in the capital.
However, at around 03:30 this morning, the victim succumbed to his wounds and died. The attacker has not yet been either identified or arrested.
The death coincides with the first anniversary of the fatal stabbing of 28 year old Senegalese national Ousmane Kote, an incident which provoked several days of rioting in the town.
