An oil spill was reported today near the port of Crinavis in the municipality of San Roque after a Liberian registered ship suffered damage during docking manoeuvres.
The ‘MSC Shenzhen’ was attempting to enter the CERNAVAL dry dock when it collided with the wall and caused a gash in the hull and rupturing one of the fuel tanks. The spill is thought to be only a couple of cubic metres of fuel and the situation is being closely monitored.
