Work has started to clean up the beach at Rinconcillo, Algeciras, following an oil spill from a Liberian registered container ship yesterday.
The ship collided with a wall while trying to enter dry dock and as a result, the hull was breached and a fuel tank was damaged causing a spillage of fuel now estimated at 50 tons.
Proceedings against the owners of the vessel have already been instigated.
